Pelvic Girdle Pain
Pelvic Girdle Pain, otherwise known as PGP, refers to pain experienced around the joints of the pelvis.
Your pelvis is made up of three joints, two sacro-iliac joints and one pubic symphysis joint. The cause of pelvic girdle pain is multifactorial. It is believed to be the result of biomechanical, hormonal, and genetic factors.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP RELIEVE MY PAIN?
Treatment is largely conservative. It involves activity modifications, provision of supportive garments, manual therapy, and progressive strengthening of the muscles surrounding the pelvis.
Physiotherapy: Pelvic floor and core strengthening exercises, posture awareness, and manual therapy to reduce pain.
Activity modifications: Modifying daily activities to reduce pain, such as sleeping with pillows between knees, keeping legs together whilst getting in/out of car, and sitting down to get dressed.
Supportive belts: A pelvic support belt can provide stability and reduce discomfort.
Ice: For immediate pain relief
